Under READINESS Libya II, #Libya is advancing a coherent and strategic approach to #ClimateFinance, guided by strong political commitment and cross-sectoral coordination.

A high-level exchange with H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Arabi Munir, Minister of Environment of Libya, highlighted key outcomes of the national stakeholder consultations, conducted with the engagement of institutions responsible for #environment, #water, #agriculture, #energy, #finance, and planning. These consultations laid the groundwork for aligning national climate priorities with the investment criteria of the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

The discussions emphasized priority areas for transformative impact, including #renewableenergy, integrated and sustainable water resources management, and climate-resilient agriculture, while also reinforcing national ownership through enhanced access to international climate finance.

This strategic momentum supports the development of a National Climate Finance Roadmap and a GCF Country Programme, key instruments for structuring and mobilizing sustainable climate investments in Libya.
